The Club Alpino Italiano (CAI), founded in 1863, is the oldest and largest association of mountain enthusiasts in Italy. With over 300,000 members and a widespread network of local sections, it works to protect the mountain environment, promote the culture of highland areas, and ensure safety in hiking and mountaineering activities.
The Sentiero Italia CAI (SICAI) represents its most ambitious project: a unique itinerary that crosses the entire Apennine ridge and the Alpine arc, including the islands.
Through the SICAI, the CAI is committed to connecting villages, traditions and natural parks, offering a sustainable and conscious experience that enhances the landscape and cultural heritage of our country.
