Rifugio Alpino Lago della Vecchia

Located at 1872m above sea level and just a short walk from Lake della Vecchia, it offers a breathtaking perspective of the surrounding nature and a lovely view of the Cervo Valley. The refuge has 22 beds and serves typical Piedmontese cuisine, with possible menu variations for those with intolerances and for those who do not prefer animal products. The Legend of della Vecchia and the Bear The legend tells of a young warrior who fell in love with a beautiful maiden. A wedding was arranged, and the rock near the lake was decorated as an altar. The bride waited all day and night for her groom, but in vain. The following morning, a man came to inform her that her groom had been found dead in the woods. The young man was buried at the bottom of the lake, and the girl lived there until old age, along with a bear she had befriended, to guard her love. Many years later, she also died, but even today, during full moon nights, some claim that a ghost with a harmonious body and long white hair roams the surface of the lake.
