Rifugio Pietro Crosta

The Rifugio Pietro Crosta, owned by the C.A.I. of Gallarate, is located at Alpe Solcio in Varzo, on the edge of the Alpe Veglia and Alpe Devero Natural Park. It is situated along the Altavia of the Valle Divedro and serves as a stop on the GTA, the Great Crossing of the Alps, as well as one of the favorite destinations for hiking and trekking in Val d’Ossola. The refuge is open year-round, accessible by snowshoes or ski mountaineering, and offers dining services throughout the year along with overnight accommodations, with 24 beds available in the refuge and an additional 8 in the bivouac.
