The CAI Portafranca Hut is located in Orsigna, near Pistoia. The hut is surrounded by numerous raspberry plants, fir trees, and beeches, and marks the boundary between the beech forest and the pasture. It has 25 sleeping places, living rooms, a kitchen, restrooms, and a shelter that is always open. The facility operates for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from May 1st to the end of October, and every day (subject to communication of specific days each year) during the late July/August period. It is situated at the top of the Orsigna stream valley at an altitude of 1580 meters above sea level. Due to the ongoing health emergency, it is not possible to stay overnight inside the hut until further notice.
