Rifugio Santa Maria dei Monti

N/A
The Rifugio Santa Maria dei Monti is located in Scala (SA), within the Regional Park of the Monti Lattari, at over a thousand meters above sea level. Facing the refuge is Mount Campanaro, which overlooks the Gulf of Salerno, where a small altar with a statue of the Madonna is situated. From here, the view dominates the towns of Scala, Ravello, and Maiori from above. The refuge has 13 sleeping places, divided into two floors with two distinct self-contained apartments, each with its own bathroom and kitchen. A 15-minute walk from the refuge leads to the waters of Vrecciaro, where one can enjoy a unique sunset overlooking the Gulf of Naples. The refuge is accessible from Scala, Ravello, Agerola, and the surrounding municipalities. Just 15 minutes away is the Alta Via dei Monti Lattari trail, the famous Trail 300 that starts in Cava dei Tirreni and ends at Punta Campanella. Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori lived most of his life in the refuge and wrote the famous "Tu scendi dalle stelle" in a cave in Scala.
