Hiking
This moderately long stage with a slight elevation gain stays entirely at altitude, covering a wide stretch of trail in the Canton of Valais (Switzerland) before crossing the border again to return to Italy. From the hut, a short ascent leads to the Passo di Monte Moro, where the state border crosses, descending on the Swiss side towards the artificial lake of Mattmark, above Saas Almagell. Around 2500 meters, a path begins to circle the summit of Galmenhorn. Upon reaching Ofental, the ascent to the Passo di Antigine continues (where the namesake bivouac with 9 places is located) at an altitude of 2834 meters, returning to Italian territory. A descent and then a traverse northward, with some exposed sections, lead to Alpe del Lago near Lago Cingino, where the namesake bivouac stands.
