Le Miniere

N/A
The International Center "Le Miniere" is located in the wide valley of the Patrì river, on the western slope of the mountainous basin where the large reservoir of the river lies. The structure is set in the picturesque area of Fondachelli Fantina, between the Peloritani and Nebrodi mountains, rich in history and traditions. The Center is developed on a plot of land, originally comprising a total area of 5.5 hectares, which, at the time of the establishment of the “Center,” contained only a part of the buildings present today. Originally, there was a basic setup that included: a wooden farmhouse with a kitchen and restaurant, and two wooden chalets for accommodation (each with two beds). Today, the chalets are part of the hostel and feature a double bedroom, a hallway/study, and a private bathroom; an important building where agricultural products (fruit) were processed and transformed; and another building for honey production. Today, the Center “Le Miniere” APS covers an area of 18 hectares. The facility has achieved optimal development and functionality, integrating more effectively into the territory and the socio-economic structure of Fondachelli Fantina and its surrounding areas. Le Miniere serves as an important cultural hub related to the environmental values of its region and its potentials, focusing on hospitality and enjoyment, all in perfect harmony and compliance with the urban and environmental regulations governing this area. In addition to the chalet, guests can stay in the central structure, which consists of 3 suites with en-suite bathrooms and 20 beds with shared bathrooms. Other available amenities include: a wooden restaurant, ample parking areas, 20 km of trekking paths for hiking or horseback riding, 3 mountain bike trails categorized as A, B, and C, a 10,000 sqm campground, biodiversity pathways with about 800 different fruit tree species, equipped relaxation areas, drinking water fountains along the trails, a swimming pool with a bar and landscaped green area, playgrounds, a birdwatching observation point, archery facilities, a library with over 5,000 volumes, and 15 marked and bolted climbing routes.
